Chapter 7 Ending Poverty in Africa

(5) Is a massive aid the best strategy for saving Africa

I think foreign aid is good strategy if it is designed and follows the planned that is meant for. Also have checks and balances on the money. If for example they need 10 million for child care that is needs to be checked and assured that the money is for that and if not then they get nothing. It is used for. If not then it is the same old cliché. Give money to people who don’t want to work, will not work. Why would they. There getting it for free. So is could be good. It could be bad. All depends on the person.

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is an independent, voluntary, consumer organization based in St Albans, England, whose main aim is promoting real ale and the traditional British pub. It is now the largest single-issue consumer group in the UK and is a founding member of the European Beer Consumers' Union (EBCU). CAMRA's campaigns include promoting small brewing and pub businesses, reforming licensing laws, reducing tax on beer, and stopping continued consolidation among local British brewers. It also makes an effort to promote less common varieties of beer and other traditionally brewed beverages including stout, porter, mild, traditional cider, and perry.

Journal 4
I read a story on CNN about an American solider who used the Quran for shooting practice and how engraged the Muslims are that there wasn't more action taken. After the solider got caught the got a punishment of being reassigned to America and wrote and appology to the Muslim community. Muslims are angery because this has been going on for a long time now and because people are only getting slaps on the wrist no one cares about following the rules. I agree with the angered Muslims; the solider should have gotten more of a punishment. No wonder relations with Iraq is what it is today. When the American soliders go over to Iraq and disreguard there culture and way of life all it does is help influence the brain washing terrorist put in others minds. Just think of how Americans would react if a Muslim in America shot at a bible. He would be concidered a terrorist right a way and have the law trying to get him for any and everything they could. The Iraqies did say they want him punished with the severest of punishments and if what they mean by that is death then I think there going a bit to far. He should and does deserve jail time, a heafty fine and community service though. With punishments going to soliders they would be less likely to act out and respect the Iraqies ways which in turn would help with removing some of the tension in the middle east and build a level of respect between the two countries.

Same here, i agree with some of the others. I truly think that the massive aid strategy is a great way to help lower the poverty in Africa and i think it should have been done sooner then later.

Imprison a soldier who shot a book? Seriously? I'm not discounting the amount of disrespect or bad taste it shows, however I do feel that putting a soldier behind bars because he made a poor decision that caused no physical harm to another person is quite ridiculous. What U.S. law or article of the uniform code of military justice was violated? None. Other than an out of theater transfer and a formal apology, what else could be done? The sad part for the solider is that international incidents are a really good way of ruining your military career. Every time that solider comes up for promotion, this will be in his service record and will be looked upon poorly. Sure it doesn't seem like much but there is the potential to forfeit your entire pension and everything you worked for in your career. Being forced out of your career is a pretty steep price to pay for shooting a book as target practice.
